1st plane ride & 1st attempt at rice cereal

Looks like May is another month of new things. Lexi got to go on her 1st plane ride to Iowa. Ok- actually to Kansas City, then we drove to Iowa. But still... she did awesome!!! Mom & Dad were so pleasantly surprised! Both ways- she ate on the way up, slept for a little while, talk to herself, and had some juice on the way back down. No screaming or crying or anything. How lucky are we?!?!!!

Waiting to board
Lots to look at
Lexi missed the memo to smile!
The reason we went to Iowa was for my cousin Abby's graduation. She really isn't a cousin- she is more like my little sister! There was no chance we could miss this big day in her life.
Congrats Ab! We love you & are so proud of you!!!
Now here we are getting ready to try out rice cereal for the 1st time. We went in for Lexi's 4 month check-up on Friday. She is in the 75th percentile for length and 25th for weight. Dr. Moss said she is ready whenever, for cereal. So we decided why wait??! :)
After the 1st few bites- not really sure what to make of it.
She didn't make nearly as big of a mess as we were prepared for. By the end she was opening her mouth for the spoon. She is getting better at it every time we give it to her. So much fun!
I'm starting her young! :)
We are borrowing this bumbo chair from Lexi's friend Ava. She has no idea what to make of this either. Just like everything else though, I'm sure she'll love it soon.

So that's what we've been up to. We are heading back to Iowa in June for Mike's grandparents 50th wedding anniversary party. Lexi is very excited to spend more time with family!! Can't wait till then!

Just another update on a busy little girl!

It's rough being so beautiful. You always have cameras in your face & people want to be around you all the time. As hard as Lexi may try though, she still gets spotted by mom & dad's camera! :)

What do you think of the disguise??

Mike & I are quickly learning to take advantage of any snuggle time we can get. Lexi is becoming so alert and rarely wants to just be still. It's a very treasured thing in our household- when we get to cuddle with our baby girl!

I love dressing her up! She looks so cute in just about anything!! ;)

Grandma Nean came for a visit last week. It was so much fun to have her here! While she was here, Lexi decided to start doing some new tricks. The picture below is an example of how she is starting to reach out for things. She has also gotten to the stage of putting anything in her hand, in her mouth.

reading some stories w/Grandma

Grandma also brought this super cool mat. It makes tummy time so much more exciting!!

Lexi was also able to try out this jumpy seat. Grandma says they used to be called a Johnny Jump-Up. Not exactly sure what they are called now. Anywho... it was a sight to see. Lexi had no idea what she was supposed to do. She just lifts her legs off the ground and kinda spins in it. It's pretty cute! I'm sure it won't be long and she'll be bouncing around like crazy!

Daddy thinks he can get Lexi to cheer for his favorite teams. He will soon learn he his outnumbered... between mom, Uncle Chad, & Uncle Tom. He has no chance. :)

Poor girl- we thought it might be fun to put her in the high chair one night at dinner time. It reclines back, so why not try it?? She put up with it for a couple minutes, but then decided she was over it. Guess we'll wait to try it again until she really needs to be in it. :)
