October Update

I can't believe that October is almost over. Where does the time go?? What seems even more crazy to me is that our baby turned 9 months old on the 19th. Which means she will be 1 before we know it. Unbelievable! She is growing and changing and learning new things every day. Still no crawling though. It's coming... she's a girl and just likes to take her time! :) She did do a new thing a couple weeks ago... she sat up in bed on her own. That scared me a little and shortly after that, we lowered her bed. I'll try to post a video later of how she goes from laying down to sitting up. It's a pretty funny process to watch.
The stats from her 9 month appointment are...
19.2 lbs (50th percentile)
27.9 in long (50th percentile)
head circumference is 17.91 in (90th percentile) she has a big brain already!!

I love this picture. It looks like she is upset w/the kisses, but this girl loves her daddy so much it's not even funny!

The 1st time I walked in and saw her sitting up
The 2nd time she didn't seem so confused.
She also likes trying to stand on her own. You can't go too far though... still working on the balance thing.
I LOVE this outfit!
This is what we call "Crazy Bear Hair!"

My parents & Chad were able to come visit us two weeks ago. Lexi loved all the attention and didn't like coming back to reality when they left. She loves getting her way all the time. ha!
Playing with Papa's hair. It's just like daddy's!!
We all had Hawkeye shirts on (even though you can't see them)
Showing Grandma just how flexible she is!
This picture kills me. I think Lexi looks like she is in the middle of a big belly laugh. How fitting, that Uncle Chad would be making her laugh! :)
Just hanging out w/Papa
More pictures to come of a dressed up baby girl at Halloween! Yay for all the 1st holidays coming up we get to celebrate with Lexi! Let the fun begin!!

Real Update

I know I've put up some videos lately, but here is a real update w/words & pictures! We have been keeping pretty busy around here. Back in September we went to the TN State Fair. Mike & I didn't get our hopes up for much, and turns out that's a good thing. The fair was awfully sad. So sad in fact, they aren't having one next year.
She did love the little chicks. The rabbits and chicks were her favorite.
Not loving the pigs though.
Now we can say we have been to the TN State Fair. Who knows if
we'll be able to go back though.Lexi got to meet my best friend from college! She had to come to Nashville for work and decided to come visit for another couple days.
Lexi enjoyed her time w/Karla!! Now she keeps asking me when Karla might give her a friend to play with. ;)
The three of us (all in pink!)
Papa & Grandma Grimes came for a visit! They came down over Mike's b-day weekend. It was pretty exciting... Saturday we got to watch the Hawkeyes play! What a great game!!
Grandma brought down Mike's old teddy bear for Lexi to have. She loves it! It was so sweet to see her cuddling with it right away.
I think it's safe to say Lexi has both of them wrapped around her finger. :)

Here are just a few other things Lexi has been up to...
Helping mom find coupons. :)
Just looking cute!
The past outfit & this one below are from her cousins Valerie & Natalie. It's so much fun having girl cousins that are willing to share their clothes! :)
Getting ready for fall/Halloween. Letting everyone know she is the cutest pumpkin!
And of course... still cheering for the Hawkeyes! (and looking super cute while doing it!)
That's what has been going on in our world. Still no crawling. And still only 2 teeth. She has really started becoming her own person. I think she might be a little dramatic. Not sure where that would come from... ha! Life with her is far beyond what we could have ever imagined! And I know it's only going to get better! We continue to thank the Lord for choosing to bless us with Lexi!!

I Have A Voice!!?

In the past few days Lexi has really started enjoying the sound of her own voice. Actually, she enjoys it so much that she wants to talk all the time. She was even trying to show off at the grocery store yesterday. I'm pretty sure the whole store got a free concert. :) She can get a little carried away at times. I can't imagine what it will be like when she really does start talking. No matter what though, it will always be a sweet sound for us to hear!
