What a month

Just like the past couple months, April was busy for the 3 of us! As you will see below, we were able to celebrate Easter with family! Then right after they left it was Tax Day. We were very excited about this because of the Tea Party that was going on in Franklin that evening. We got Lexi dressed warmly and put her sign in her car seat and headed out.

I don't mean to brag... but she had to be the cutest kid there! I think it's the hat. The moment I put it on her, I died laughing. Super cute! We realize she had no idea what was going on, but Mike & I feel a new responsiblity now. The government is destroying her future. Our poor child is in debt and she can't even crawl. Why should she (or we) have to pay for the dumb choices of politicans. We will do anything we can to help protect her future!

She really wanted to help me fold towels. :)

Lexi has finally realized she has a voice, and that it can be loud! She gets into these moods where she will just talk & talk to herself. It's really fun to listen to!

Getting in some "tummy time" on Daddy's tummy.

The next two pictures below show how Lexi likes to sleep. She starts w/her head at the far end of the bed and by morning, this is what we find. She has typically done a half circle, if not a little more. And her hands are always up at her face.

This is the yawning face. Too funny!
April has been a great month! Lexi is really starting to grow-up. Just here in the past week she has started reaching out & grabbing toys. She is holding her head up great & just loves talking and giggling. I don't think Mike & I realized just how awesome it was going to be to become parents. The love you feel for your child is totally indescribable! We often talk about the love we have for Lexi and how it can't even come close to the love Christ has for us. It honestly blows my mind because I know there will be days where we both will struggle with her. And to think that we daily rebel against the Lord and yet His love for us never changes. How undeserving we are! I pray that Mike & I will learn more every day what it means to lean on the Lord and draw our strength from Him.

Family visit!

Lexi was finally able to meet her two cousins on the Septer side. It was SO much fun!!! I think it's safe to say they all loved each other! We were sad to see them go. It really is the hardest part living so far away- we don't get to see family enough. When we do though, it is truly a blessing. We love them all so much & cherish every moment we get to spend with them!

Natalie didn't really know what to think

I think Uncle Tom liked her!

Valerie loves Lexi so much! It is so sweet to see her w/Lexi!!

Grandma Shell & Valerie

This was Lexi's first trip to the Opryland Hotel. There was something going on in the spot where mommy & daddy got engaged, so no pictures of us there. Next time!!

HA- this just makes me laugh. I guess she was over the hotel.

This was also Lexi's 1st trip to Pancake Pantry. She could have cared less. Mommy sure hopes in the future she'll love it so we can beg daddy to take us there!! :)

Easter

Wow- I was trying to post some pictures from Easter and messed something up. I'm not really sure what I did, but I gave up on it for awhile. Here goes my 2nd try! My whole family was able to come down and spend a few days with Mike, Lexi & I. It was so much fun for Lexi to meet her cousins!!! Mommy & Daddy sure enjoy getting to celebrate Easter with family. We are also very excited for the chance to teach Lexi the true meaning of Easter in the coming years.

Happy Monday

Monday's are Mike's day off and so we typically run errands around town. We were getting ready to head out to the grocery store, Lexi was already in her car seat and I was trying to get everything ready to go. Mike decided to try & keep her entertained and started doing this goofy dance. And what was her reaction you ask... She LAUGHED! It's the very 1st time we have heard her laugh!! We both stopped & looked at each other in disbelief. So, he did it again. And she laughed even more. It just might be my new favorite sound in the whole wide world. She has recently realized she has a voice and is making more noise. This is a much welcomed noise!! :) The video we are posting isn't the greatest, so we'll try to get better ones up soon! Hope you enjoy it as much as we did!!!
